 14 Steps to a Healthy Lifestyle


We always strive to think about improving ourselves, by seeking a new style to change our boring routine rhythm. Of course, the first thing we decide to do if we want to change is to take care of our health. 

Here are some simple things that we all can do to maintain our health without costing us a lot of time and effort :

  1.  Replace sweets with fruit:  Stop eating sweets that contain processed sugar, and start eating fruits that contain natural sugar,  they are also rich in fiber, which will help you to facilitate digestion. 
  2. Shop with a full stomach: Some studies have showed that people who snack before their grocery trip buy less unhealthy foods because they aren't hungry.
  3. Learn the art of cooking: Studies have shown that dieting without all foods makes you want to eat more of them. But cooking at home is linked to healthy eating, as well as saving money on eating out, and boosting self-confidence.
  4. Drink your coffee, plain: Some studies indicate that coffee is beneficial, and some suggest drinking 3-5 cups a day, as it helps you live longer if it is without milk, cream, sugar, and those flavorings that reduce its health benefits. 
  5. Drink a lot of water: It keeps the fluids in the body balanced, resulting in more energy. And some fitness experts say you can lose weight if you drink water before every meal
  6. Meditate for 30 minutes a day: Research says meditation can help you deal with stress, improve memory and awareness, and lower blood pressure. One study found that people who meditated for 30 minutes a day, five days a week, for a month (11 hours total) experienced changes in a part of the brain involved in self-regulation. 
  7.  Maintain a consistent bedtime: Go to bed at a fixed time every night, even on weekends, as this relaxes the body's weekly sleep schedule and does not disrupt it and make you tired, exhausted, and insomnia. 
  8. Turn off your phone from time to time: This class is very helpful in maintaining relaxation, especially in the evening and when going to sleep.
  9. Put your desk by the window: A very small 2014 study found that employees who work in window desks are physically active and sleep longer through the night. 
  10. Replace white bread with whole wheat: Whole-wheat bread has more fiber than regular white bread, and the fiber helps you feel full.
  11.  Exercise: By moving your body  for 30 minutes a day, you will lower the risk of many disease and you will create higher bone density.
  12.  . Eat the rainbow. Pick brightly-colored foods in the produce aisle. These are high in antioxidants. Here are a few examples to look out for:
    • White (Bananas, Mushrooms)
    • Yellow (Pineapples, Mangoes)
    • Orange (Oranges, Papayas)
    • Red (Apples, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Watermelons)
    • Green ( Avocados, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Celery)
    • Purple and Blue (Blackberries, Eggplants, Prunes) 
  13.  Avoid negative people in your life. A positive mentality is key for a healthy life.  No one needs negativity in his life and If you feel that someone around you is negative, just let him go.
  14.  Take your time eating. Your brain, is responsible for feelings of hunger. If you take your time during meals by eating slowly, you allow your brain adequate time to send the *full* message to your stomach and allow your food to be fully ingested.
